Refugee Resettlement Services
LCSS assists refugees’ resettlement through a variety of initiatives. These include:
- Information & Orientation to basic human needs (e.g. food security, employment, health & well being, legal support)
- Assistance with application for Social Insurance Number (SIN), Child tax benefits, Medical Services Plan (MSP), school enrollment, and more.
- Provide opportunity to join social groups to meet other families and new friends. Specifically, we have groups for women, seniors, and English learners.
- Educational classes for children ages 0-6
- Transportation support (e.g. bus passes, accompaniment to appointments)
- Referrals to other services (e.g. food bank, counselling, life skills training, childcare resources, employment, education, etc.)
If you are privately sponsoring a refugee family to live here in Langley, we can assist you with connecting them to other services that they may need. Please contact Mary Tanielian at mtanielian@lcss.ca for more information.
